About The Position

The Assistant Store Director (ASD) plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the store, providing excellent customer service and assisting the Store Director in managing the store's overall performance. The ASD supervises a large team of employees, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with company policies, and a high level of customer satisfaction. This position requires flexibility to work at various locations within the district and involves significant responsibilities in staff management, inventory control, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of assistant manager experience in a multi-department retail or service operation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Strong customer service and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in perishable inventory management.
  • Solid understanding of overall store operations and strong leadership skills.

  • Shrink management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing in a food-based industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Director in managing the total operations of the store.
  • Supervise and train store employees, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Track and analyze store performance, forecasting sales goals and taking action to meet them.
  • Manage cash control, inventory, and security procedures.
  • Oversee store maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding sales goals and performance opportunities.
  • Support the Store Director in executing strategies for product placement and promotions.
  • Handle customer complaints and ensure superior customer service is provided by employees.
  • Maintain professional relationships with union officials and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
