We are seeking a Solution Architect to lead the modernization and migration of a financial pricing application from JD Edwards to Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, microservices, and containerization to define and implement a scalable, cloud-native solution. The architect will determine the appropriate database technology (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Databricks), evaluate the role of Kubernetes in orchestrating workloads, and design a microservices-based architecture to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance.

  • Architect the migration strategy for transitioning the financial pricing application from JD Edwards to Azure, focusing on cloud-native and microservices-driven design.
  • Design and implement a microservices architecture, breaking down monolithic components into independent, containerized services for scalability and agility.
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate database technology (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Databricks) based on data structure, performance needs, and cloud integration.
  • Define the role of Kubernetes (AKS) in orchestrating and managing containerized microservices, ensuring high availability, auto-scaling, and workload optimization.
  • Assess and mitigate architectural impacts, including latency, data consistency, security, and operational costs, based on chosen design patterns.
  • Develop API strategies to enable efficient communication between microservices, external systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and monitoring of containerized applications using DevOps best practices.
  • Optimize performance and cost-efficiency by leveraging serverless computing, containerized workloads, and managed database services.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, and infrastructure teams to align architecture with business and operational goals.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and conduct benchmarking to validate architectural decisions before full-scale implementation.
  • Ensure security and compliance by integrating best practices in identity management, encryption, and regulatory adherence.
  • 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, cloud migration, and application modernization.
  • Expertise in Azure cloud services, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Databricks, and Azure API Management.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, including containerization strategies with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, with experience in selecting the right data store for financial applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for workload orchestration, service discovery, and fault tolerance.
  • Experience in API Gateway implementation, event-driven architecture, and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards ERP and integration patterns for cloud migration.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and real-time data streaming.
  • Experience with CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep), and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Experience in financial pricing models, high-volume transaction processing, and performance optimization.
  • Certifications in Azure Solutions Architecture, Kubernetes, or DevOps.
  • Knowledge of serverless computing and hybrid cloud strategies.
