About The Position

Lumina is looking for a Removal and Reinstall Technician to support our Energy Services Maintenance team. This is a short-term, 90-day contract position. While the role is initially designed for a limited duration, there is potential for the contract to be extended based on performance, company needs, and project availability. This position offers the chance to expand your skills and grow your career in the solar industry. As a Removal and Reinstall Technician, you will play a vital role in safely removing and reinstalling solar PV systems for residential properties.

Requirements

  • Experience in Construction, Roofing, Electrical, or other related fields
  • Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
  • Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
  • Physical ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly and transport materials/equipment at job sites
  • Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required
  • Proven track record of reliable attendance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
  • Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
  • A valid driver's license is required for all positions at Lumina Solar

Nice To Haves

  • Solar experience or knowledge is highly preferred but not required
  • Experience with roofing repairs and maintenance is a plus
  • Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team on the removal and reinstall of pre-existing residential solar installations
  • Safely remove solar panel arrays while preserving the integrity of the panels
  • Carefully remove batteries, inverters, and other system components
  • Assist in the layout and installation of solar panels, mounts, and electrical systems
  • Install racking, brackets, and other hardware for panel reinstallations
  • Pull materials and stock the work vehicle for the day's jobs, ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and in order
  • Support job safety and crew operations, including staging materials, providing site work support, assisting with site preparation, and cleanup
  • Provide regular updates on job status, complete necessary paperwork, and take photos as required
  • Offer customer support for troubleshooting system issues and maintain professional correspondence with customers
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team
