Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to join their Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team in Orlando, FL. The role involves developing and maintaining quality engineering processes aligned with AS9100 Quality Management System and customer requirements. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring software quality through various methods including audits, inspections, and testing, while also contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence within the company.

  • Develops, modifies, and applies quality principles to software and software-based systems.
  • Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process, and contract requirements.
  • Designs and implements software development and maintenance processes.
  • Defines audit strategy to ensure compliance to systems/software processes.
  • Designs, specifies, and conducts test methods for software inspection, verification, and validation.
  • Evaluates and analyzes software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
  • Performs software product reviews against contractual, technical and/or process requirements.
  • Reviews requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
  • STEM degree at the bachelor's level or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have a Secret clearance.
  • Experience with product development phases.
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques.
  • Software Quality or Engineering experience in Requirements Analysis, Design/Development, Product Integration and Test.
  • Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues.
  • Ability to interpret software design and code (C/C++) to verify implementation of requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile Methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).
  • Lab/Test Equipment Hardware knowledge or background skills.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation, Technical Writing.
  • Familiar with the Atlassian Suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) and Gitlab.
  • Familiar with automated test system platforms (NI TestStand, NI LabVIEW, SystemLink).
  • Basic understanding of electro-mechanical engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt).
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration.
  • Experience with presentation & problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Government customers.
  • Strong knowledge of Industry recognized Quality Systems/Models such as Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI), QMS System Audit (AS9100, ISO9001).
  • Experience with verification and validation processes.
  • Different program phase experience (development, production, sustainment).
  • Corrective Action Board (Process, Command Media, corrective action, preventive action, Root Cause Analysis).
  • SAP Handling and Dispositioning Nonconformances.
