Splunk is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Software Engineer to join our Splunk Observability team who will work on systems that empower our customers to quickly detect and resolve their infrastructure and application issues. You will be a key contributor for the user facing web application for Splunk Observability Infrastructure Monitoring. Splunk's Observability Suite is a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant and Infrastructure Monitoring is one of the most used and popular products in this suite.

  • Collaborate with product owners and designers to iterate on the design and implementation of our products.
  • Break down product requirements and/or complex technical tasks into sprint size units and estimate the work.
  • Participate in end-to-end architecture reviews and discussions with the broader team, playing an influential role in overall product design.
  • Design testable software, compose test plans and automate test cases while making necessary improvements to test frameworks.
  • Hands on development of product features keeping subsystem reusability, modularity, and high scale as part of design.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties as needed to ensure stable service delivery.
  • Professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Golang.
  • Experience with Python or Java is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry (Otel) for observability, tracing, and monitoring in distributed systems.
  • Familiarity of AI frameworks, including LangChain, OpenAI APIs and Vector Databases.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in cloud-based environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps best practices.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL and vector databases for efficient AI data retrieval is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • BS CS or EE degree, or equivalent training or work experience.
  • 5+ years related experience (or Masters and 4+ years related experience, or PhD without experience).
