The Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering team is dedicated to building automated platforms and solutions to streamline the AWS build and deployment process in dedicated regions. Our vision is to fully automate and enable zero-touch AWS deployments thereby reducing the time it takes to deploy new features and freeing engineers to focus on building new services and capabilities. Cutlass develops and operates services builders across Amazon use to improve their operational experience. We enable ticket notifications from airgapped regions and build platforms that put data in the right places for other tools to leverage, which all adds up to a reduction of toil and operational inconsistency from one region to another. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
  • Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix systems.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience building production-level services with AWS infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own new feature development from design through to implementation, deployment, and operations.
  • Build and improve systems that help customers do the right thing for their customers faster and safer.
  • Consult with senior and principal engineers to ensure designs meet customers' needs.
  • Perform at least one week of on-call duty per quarter, being the first line of defense against system problems.
