Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing

In this SoC Security Architect role you will define the platform and SoC level technologies for a wide breadth of domains including but not limited to cryptographic HW functions, DRAM encryption, virtualization, isolation/sandboxing, life cycle management, secure boot & debug. In addition, you will work with SoC architects to influence chip architecture to maximize overall PPA efficiency while striving highest security assurance. The SoC Product Security Architect is a high-visibility role acting as the end-to-end platform security owner working with chip and system architecture teams to understand current threat models and define the security architecture aligning across AMD IP and SW security roadmap for CPUs, dGPU, datafabric and die-to-die communication as well as hypervisor designs and virtualization technologies. In addition, the SoC Product Security Architect will coordinate with AMD Product Security Incident Reporting Team (PSIRT) to resolve security incidents for a given family of products.

  • Work with customers and understand their use cases and requirements and fold that into platform security architecture requirements
  • Keep up to date with AMD IP and SW security roadmap for CPUs, GPU, datafabric and die-to-die communication as well as hypervisor designs and virtualization technologies
  • Work with firmware, software, tools teams to understand how use cases are impacted by security policy
  • Deliver relevant security architecture specification sections to broader teams and define requirements for subsystem architects
  • Assess PPA trade-offs for various optimization proposals
  • Define boot and debug security architectures
  • Define device life cycle and key provisioning architectures
  • Define a security architecture against the latest threat models
  • Implement security policies (soc register access, memory access, DRM content protection etc)
  • Review validation security test plans
  • Lead security policy violation debug
  • Strong understanding of one or more security technologies like ARM TrustZone, Intel TXT, SGX and AMD SEV technologies
  • Deep understanding of threat models and security architecture in soc's
  • Strong experience working in SoC/ASIC design/validation/architecture
  • Strong system and computer architecture experience
  • Understand of GPU architecture is a plus
  • Familiarity with SoC security technologies for client and server spaces
  • Experience with architecture and design of HW cryptographic accelerators
  • Familiarity with Hypervisor designs and virtualization technologies
  • Strong understanding of cryptographic algorithms and protocols
  • Good understanding of secure boot and firmware update technologies
  • AMD benefits at a glance
