La Clinica de La Raza is a non-profit community-based health center established in 1971 to address health barriers and create better lives for the underserved. This position is only available to current students from Samuel Merritt University. As a PA volunteer student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and be supervised by a licensed medical provider who will provide you the student feedback regarding questions and to correct errors when applicable. Gain practicum experiences in an FQHC setting that are of critical importance to a successful learning experience in the PA program. The practicum setting allows for the synthesis of concepts and the application of didactic learning. The PA student will work closely with a preceptor learning from licensed provider advice and example. Through supervision, the PA student can progressively develop the skills and judgment necessary to become a PA.
