About The Position

The Site Protection Security System Technician at Princeton University is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and testing the campus access control system and security systems. This role involves working under the supervision of the access control & security systems supervisor and collaborating with various university departments to ensure the security infrastructure is operational and meets university standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with four years vocational school or equivalent in electrical or electronic disciplines.
• 3-5 years of experience with installation and service of Software House CCure 9000 access control systems and Honeywell intrusion security systems.
• Strong functional knowledge of electricity and electronics.
• Ability to perform maintenance, repairs, and installation of card readers and electronic locking hardware.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to repair door hardware and structural components.
• Proficient in business application software and computerized maintenance-management software.

Nice To Haves

• Software House installer/maintainer certification in CCURE 9000 systems.
• AAADM certification (American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers).

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, test, and install access control and security system hardware and software.
• Supervise and inspect the installation of access control and security system equipment.
• Evaluate and diagnose electronic access control security equipment that requires servicing.
• Troubleshoot potential field wiring problems and repair access control door hardware and intrusion detection systems.
• Coordinate and oversee the acceptance testing procedure for all security systems.
• Review drawings and specifications of access control/security systems and provide technical comments.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to access control system repairs and procedures.
