About The Position

The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Conveyor Belting Shop, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and staff management. This role involves direct supervision of employees, coordination of tasks, and collaboration with corporate and human resources to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of conveyor belt fabrication experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of general machine safety, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of direct supervision and management experience.
  • 3 years of general shop maintenance and upgrades experience.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • OSHA Certification required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Conveyor Belting and related manufacturing tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages shop operations to maximize output and fill customer orders effectively.
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and creates cost-effective work schedules.
  • Interprets job orders for workers and follows up to ensure orders meet customer specifications.
  • Ensures accurate inventory management including recordkeeping, receiving, and shipping.
  • Maintains positive communication between corporate and team members regarding policies and procedures.
  • Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Develops and organizes training and educational manuals for team consistency.
  • Conducts general machine and facility maintenance and upgrades.
  • Works with Corporate on ordering supplies, customer orders, payroll, and expenses.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources for recruitment, onboarding, and team recordkeeping.
  • Ensures all employees adhere to safety policies and procedures.
