About The Position

The Service Technician & Mechanic for Boom Trucks at ALT Sales Corp. is responsible for building, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various makes of Boom Trucks. This full-time position requires hands-on experience in crane or heavy-duty truck mechanics, although training may be provided for suitable candidates. The role involves working closely with service writers, supervisors, and customers while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining accurate documentation of work performed.

Requirements

• Diesel engine, hydraulic, and electrical background is highly desired.
• Basic set of mechanic's hand tools is required.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery and in varying temperature and humidity conditions.
• Ability to safely operate complex construction equipment.
• A CDL with an acceptable driving record is highly desired but not required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with complex construction equipment operation.
• Ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Build, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all makes of Boom Trucks.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components as needed.
• Read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Interface positively with service writers, supervisors, parts department, and customers.
• Prepare proper documentation of actions taken during service and repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
