This role may be in either Colorado Springs, CO, Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 2 years of relevant engineering experience, 0 years with a Master's.
  • Experience with requirements analysis and specification development (6 mo. - 1 yr).
  • Experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools (6 mo. - 1 yr).
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary engineering development, including Software, Hardware, and Systems Engineering (6 mo. - 1 yr).

Nice To Haves

  • Current Sentinel PAR access.
  • Experience applying Military/DoD and ASME standards to product design.
  • Experience writing design specifications for Hardware, Electrical, and Electronic components.
  • Experience using IBM Rational DOORS to manage requirements.
  • Experience analyzing MBSE diagrams using Cameo, especially SysML and/or DoDAF diagrams related to system and component interface definition.
  • Experience with Agile execution principles and tools, including Scrum, Kanban, and Jira.
  • Exposure to hardware/mechanical design processes and principles, such as E110P and E275M.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sentinel Program's Command and Control (C2) Hardware Systems Engineering team.
  • Help rigorously design and document the hardware architecture, components, interfaces, and performance of the C2 system.
  • Develop hardware Trade Studies, Analyses of Alternatives, and Design Specifications to help finalize the C2 technical baseline leading up to the Sentinel Critical Design Review campaign.
  • Work closely with a team of Systems Engineers and Hardware Engineers, applying Agile execution methodologies.
  • Help resolve complex requirements challenges resulting from a many-tiered Specification Tree.
  • Coordinate with Engineering teams across the Command and Launch IPT at all levels of the spec tree.
  • Lead complex negotiations with Hardware stakeholders in the areas of Cybersecurity, Nuclear Safety, and Software Engineering.
