About The Position

The Senior System Administrator role is a remote position focused on designing and implementing high-availability, reliable, and secure infrastructure and applications for an E-commerce environment. The position requires a strong background in system administration, particularly with Linux, Solaris, and Windows systems, and involves evaluating current systems to ensure best practices in security and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience with Linux, Solaris, and Windows systems.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCloud Suite Enterprise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Knowledge of security vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Familiarity with BMC Remedy Change Management system.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with Linux, Solaris and Windows build.
  • VMware ESXi and vCloud Suite Enterprise.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, monitoring, upgrading, patching, security remediation and troubleshooting on RedHat Linux (7, 8), Solaris 11, Windows and VMware.
  • Hands-on experience in VLAN, vDisk, vSwitch, VM template, Storage Multipathing, RAID config, RDM, LVM, ZFS.
  • Experience on hardware configuration for HPE ProLiant servers, Blade Systems, Oracle Sparc servers and appliances.
  • Virtualization with VMware and LDOM.
  • Working experience with BMC Remedy Change Management system is required.
  • Working experience / knowledge on SAN storage, HA clustering technology, private/public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), networking, and security vulnerability assessment.
  • Working knowledge of production Web hosting environments is required.
  • Strong analytical, engineering design and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP and HTTPS.
  • Strong communication skill and technical document writing.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of other Internet protocols (e.g., DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, LDAP).
