About The Position

The Special Projects Group of KPFF is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team in Seattle, WA. This role focuses on waterfront and industrial infrastructure projects, requiring a blend of structural design expertise and project management skills. The engineer will work closely with clients and team members to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional service, while also mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of structural design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis).
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferred (with a structural emphasis).
  • Professional Engineer (SE) license required.
  • Experience in concrete, steel, and timber design.
  • Experience in pile design and bulkhead wall design.
  • Knowledge of prestressed concrete and seismic design.
  • Familiarity with ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS standards.
  • Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, MS Excel, and VBA preferred.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering expertise to diverse projects, focusing on waterfront infrastructure and industrial developments.
