About the position
We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Pushpay. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of our services, as well as continuously delivering improvements. With a focus on developing internet-scale software products, you should have a strong background in SRE, systems, or software engineering. Additionally, experience with cloud technologies, terminal command line environments, databases, web technologies, and programming languages is required. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and share your knowledge with others while working on distributed solutions.
Responsibilities
- Help the engineering team build and own reliable, available, secure, and continuously delivered services
- Develop Internet-scale multi-user web/mobile/cloud type software products
- Have practical commercial knowledge and high proficiency with cloud technologies (specifically AWS), terminal command line environments, relational or document based database systems, web technologies, and programming languages (such as .Net, Java, Python, Go, Rust, Javascript, and PHP)
- Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, serverless framework, and Ansible
- Experience with bug tracking systems like Jira
- Architect and build distributed solutions in software
- Share and collaborate with others, generously offering time and knowledge
- Understand work in both technical and business-impact terms
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant SRE, systems or software engineering experience
- Practical commercial knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS)
- Proficiency with terminal command line environments like Shell, Powershell or Bash
- Familiarity with a relational or document based database system
- Understanding of web technologies such as HTTP, SSL/TLS, REST APIs
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages like .Net, Java, Python, Go, Rust, Javascript, & PHP
- Experience with DVCS for source control (preferably Git)
- Experience managing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, serverless framework, Ansible, etc.
- Experience with bug tracking systems like Jira
- Ability to architect and build distributed solutions in software
- Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with others
- Understanding of work in both technical and business-impact terms
