About The Position

The Senior Rural Housing Grant Manager is responsible for providing grant writing, management, compliance, and reporting to support the development of strategic housing opportunities with a strong focus on federal and state funding opportunities to Alaska Native Tribes. This role serves as a liaison to community partners, providing technical assistance around federal and state funding compliance and reporting requirements. The position involves managing program staff, partnerships, budgeting, reporting, evaluation, promotion, and project development. The manager will also provide guidance, coordination, and support to other RurAL CAP strategic initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • BA plus three years, or seven years related professional experience in program management, rural community development, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of rural Alaska; ability to travel occasionally to rural program sites.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Experience supervising staff, coordinating projects, and providing long-distance support.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, including cross-cultural communication.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills necessary for document creation and data entry.
  • Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy regulations.
  • Must provide own transportation and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with internal divisions and outside agencies to provide technical assistance to tribal governments and non-tribal rural communities.
  • Works closely with community key stakeholders to develop funding plans and best practices implementation strategies.
  • Researches current and new funding opportunities, coordinates with community partners to write, assemble, and submit proposals.
  • Manages implementation and administration of grants, contracts, and proposals within the Rural Housing Department.
  • Oversees funding activities, including collaboration with partners and training for community-based workers.
  • Manages and develops budgets for funding; approves and monitors expenditures.
  • Coordinates with team leaders and accounting staff for timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
  • Manages production and distribution of technical information and promotional materials.
  • Works with agency leadership to design and implement new or expanded RH projects or programs.
  • Represents RurAL CAP in communications and collaboration with primary partners and funders.
  • Participates in weekly Rural Housing team meetings and other agency planning committees.
  • Performs other duties to support the organization.
