Senior Product Designer

As a Senior Product Designer at Descript, you will be responsible for designing and building end-to-end experiences for users, focusing on improving our project browser, accounts admin, and upcoming editor features. You will collaborate closely with user research, product management, and engineering to create and deliver seamless experiences that enable anyone to easily create and edit video content. This role requires a strong focus on systems design, problem-solving, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. • Be the lead designer in a feature team, defining next-generation video editing experiences
• Bring clarity and insight to broad and ambiguous problems, integrating user, business, and technical constraints
• Contribute to the definition and expansion of the design system
• Own the design process from concept to execution, iterating based on feedback and user research
• Collaborate with PMs, user research, and fellow product designers to improve work and provide thought partnership
• Design superb user experiences with attention to detail

• 6+ years of experience as a product designer
• Experience designing web, mobile, or desktop applications with sophisticated user workflows and systems design challenges
• Experience on a fast-growing team in a fast-paced environment of uncertainty
• Clear, direct communication and ability to collaborate well with engineers, designers, and executives
• Highly organized and committed to meeting commitments
• Ability to work in ambiguity and lead the design process for a cross-functional team
• Portfolio exhibiting strong systems design and conceptual thinking, with a passion for the craft
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Design
• Nice to have: Experience building and/or working on a creation tool (e.g., word processor, design tool, audio or video editing tool)

• Base salary range of $163,000-$192,500 (considering multiple factors)
