About the position
PagerDuty is seeking a Sr. Product Designer to join their team and contribute to the design and delivery of innovative user experiences across web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have full stack design skills and strong visual design capabilities. They will collaborate with product managers and software engineers to prioritize and deliver best-in-class user experiences, develop a design strategy that integrates with multiple product areas, and create design artifacts that raise the bar for the product. The Sr. Product Designer will also be responsible for generating new cross-product ideas, conducting user research, and designing beautiful and useful user interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Managers and Software Engineers to prioritize, define, and deliver best-in-class user experiences.
- Develop and execute a design strategy that integrates with multiple product areas.
- Create design artifacts that inspire others and are recognized by the team as raising the bar for the product.
- Proactively generate new cross-product ideas and lead the implementation in this group.
- Fluent in agile, able to build and groom backlogs, write tickets, prioritize work to map to strategic initiatives.
- Design beautiful, useful, and delightful user interfaces and experiences in a team environment.
- Synthesize research insights and feedback through a data-driven design approach to validate design decisions.
- Act as Full Stack Designer/UX Generalist by conducting/participating in user research, facilitating collaborative design sessions, creating low to high fidelity designs and prototypes, and performing usability tests.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in UX design of digital products released to the market
- Portfolio demonstrating taking multiple projects from start to finish
- Experience with B2B SAAS and/or enterprise products
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools
- Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and deliver tactical pieces
- Strong desire to learn about people and how they use software
- Effective communication skills to justify design decisions
- Strategic thinker with the ability to break down complex problems
- Understanding of effective visual communication
- Technical experience or experience designing for technical/developer oriented experiences
