Senior Process Engineer Job

About the position

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer based out of our Gaston, SC facility.

Responsibilities

• Create technical reports, project reports and process design support to all ALPEK virgin PET assets, not limited IntegRex technology.
• Analyze and improve existing virgin PET production assets, not limited to IntegRex process technology.
• Run process simulators using special computers and AspenTech process modeling software including coding in special programming language and high-level spreadsheet development.
• Run process evaluations on existing IntegRex pilot facilities to support existing IntegRex industrial facilities. Interaction with technical fellows and R&D is required.
• Lead feasibility evaluations and creation of conceptual design package to coordinate engineering firms to the basic engineering design package in projects economically attractive and ESG related.
• Provide support in design of critical equipment and upgrades throughout the world applicable in ALPEK virgin PET production assets.
• Coordinate process support with the licensing unit of ALPEK Polyester S.A. de C.V. and the rest of the ALPEK virgin PET assets.
• Support other Process engineers, Project engineers and Operations engineers in ALPEK virgin PET facilities around the world. This includes interaction with all disciplines related to manufacturing process such as Mechanical, Instrument, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Architectural, SHE, Procurement among others disciplines.
• Travel up to 25% of the time in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
• 50% hybrid/remote/telecommute position - Necessary support and follow up industrial plant problems on site (Gaston, SC).

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or similar field AND five (5) years as Process Engineer or related.
• 5 years' experience with chemical manufacturing facility.
• Demonstrative experience with Polyester Continuous Polymerization (CP).
• Demonstrative experience with Polyester Solid-State Polymerization (SSP).
• Experience with Aspen Plus process simulations for Polymer and Polyester plants.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and engineering documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Project and MS Visio.
