About The Position

ACARA Solutions and our client in Manassas, VA have a contract-to-direct hire position available for a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer - Cabinets. In this role, you will take a lead role in a small cross-functional team responsible for the requirements analysis, trade studies, and system/electrical/mechanical design of new and future transmit electronic equipment. The design team will ensure the equipment meets all functional requirements, performance characteristics, and for the completion of program design milestones. You will collaborate with design engineering, production engineering, subject matter experts, and others in the development of this high-power electronic amplifier system to ensure we meet our customers' high expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with power/analog hardware and electronic systems.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with requirements analysis and system/electrical design.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with system and electrical analyses and trade study development.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with cabinet and component design.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with CAD tools.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in designing input power systems.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in amplifier design and characterization.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with unit controllers and telemetry systems.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with cables, connectors, and receptacles.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements analysis, trade studies, and system/electrical/mechanical design of new transmit electronic equipment.
• Collaborate with design engineering, production engineering, and subject matter experts.
• Perform research trade studies analyses of data to support customer design proposals.
• Synthesize solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance.
• Lead Modeling and Simulation activities.
• Evaluate components to determine performance impacts to existing designs.
• Create and review hardware and system design documentation.
• Perform detailed technical analyses for system and electrical subsystems.
• Lead customer requirements analysis and develop system requirements.
• Manage lower-level employees and communicate technical matters to senior management.

Benefits
