The job overview for the Senior Network Engineer position is that the candidate will be responsible for planning, building, and operating the next-generation network infrastructure for PDT's quantitative investment business. They will work on both on-prem and cloud technologies, optimize performance and resilience, and propose new automation and monitoring tools. Responsibilities
- Plan, build, and operate the next-generation network infrastructure for the research-driven quantitative trading business, utilizing both on-prem and cloud technologies.
- Own the network platform roadmap and collaborate with other systems and software teams on projects and improvements.
- Optimize the performance, latency, and resilience of the environment, propose and implement new automation and monitoring tools and methods, and manage capacity planning.
- Identify and address problems proactively, taking ownership of incident response and escalations.
- Mentor, coach, and collaborate with the team and the company.
- Strengthen network security by testing, configuring, and deploying new technologies and tools.
- Interface with leading vendors to stay updated on upcoming and innovative solutions.
- Possess at least 5 years of highly relevant, hands-on professional experience.
