About the position
Everlane is seeking a Sr Manager of Retention Marketing to drive the strategy and execution of programs to increase the lifetime value of customers. The right candidate should have a proven track record of growing customer retention at an e-commerce business, preferably in fashion. This role will focus on improving the effectiveness of the overall customer retention program, overseeing email and SMS channels, developing segmentation and content strategies, and identifying opportunities to increase customer retention. The Sr Manager will play a high exposure, high impact role in shaping the company's email and retention marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Improve the effectiveness of the overall customer retention program, including email and SMS channels
- Oversee email in partnership with Creative, Merchandising, Analytics, and Engineering teams
- Understand the overall landscape of the customer file and ensure its growth and health over time
- Develop segmentation, content, contact strategies, and process improvements for customer retention
- Identify opportunities to increase customer retention, such as managing best customers, resurrecting lost high-value customers, and identifying high-value customer attributes
- Partner with Site Merchandising team to develop and execute an overall strategy
- Shape the company's email and retention marketing efforts with a consistent strategy and approach
- Understand the industry and Everlane landscape to optimize customer retention
- Set direction for email and SMS marketing strategy and calendars
- Partner with Creative and Merchandising teams for calendar management and approach
- Monitor retention channels for optimized performance in customer engagement and conversion
- Audit existing workflows and implement improvements
- Identify new programs to drive customer retention
- Manage email manager and developer in day-to-day execution
- Provide regular competitive analysis
Requirements
- BA/BS degree
- 8-10 years of experience in retention marketing or other related functions
- Experience working hands-on in a major ESP, SailThru or Klaviyo
- Strong analytical capabilities, in-depth knowledge of email, SMS, and ecommerce metrics
- Previous experience working in e-commerce, fashion preferred
- Loyalty marketing experience preferred
- Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to work well in teams and have a sense of humor

- Annual compensation range of $105,000 - $158,000 (for California residents)
- Minimum annual salary of $99,000 (for Colorado residents)
- Minimum annual salary of $110,000 - $150,000 (for New York residents)
