About The Position

As a (HPC) Senior Linux Systems Administrator with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to manage and optimize Linux-based platforms in a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment, ensuring peak performance and reliability. This position includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and offers a competitive salary along with a generous benefits package. You will support PostgreSQL databases and Google TensorFlow workflows to ensure efficient operations, implement innovative solutions using tools like Lustre and Bright Cluster, and collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure system efficiency and data integrity. Additionally, you will plan and implement software and hardware configurations for Linux systems, develop and test disaster recovery solutions for mission-critical systems, and automate routine tasks using BASH or Python scripting. Your responsibilities will also include optimizing and securing containerized environments using Podman/Docker and Ansible, monitoring performance, conducting system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.

Requirements

  • Top Secret clearance w/SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
  • Proven experience with VMware vSphere (v7 or higher) and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in BASH and Python scripting for automation.
  • 10-12 years of IT Systems Administration experience, including 5-7 years of Linux administration, with expertise in containerization (Podman/Docker), Ansible, and OpenLDAP.
  • Ability to configure mount points, add and expand hard disk space, make drives persistent, and implement NFS drives.
  • Capable of performing backup procedures using tar and gzip, configuring log management, and analyzing logs.
  • Experienced with implementing DoD STIGs, configuring SELinux.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD 8140 IAT II Level Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+) REQUIRED.
  • Ability to obtain RHCSA certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Candidates with current RHCSA or RHCE certification may receive priority consideration.
