The Apple Cloud Services Engineering team, the part of ASE which provides consistency of user experience across third- and first-party clouds, is seeking an extraordinary EPM to deliver innovative product solutions that will shape the future of large-scale infrastructure at Apple. Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver complex program roadmaps for cloud products by closely partnering with developers, engineering managers, designers, product managers, and other partner teams such as Security and Compliance.
  • Initiate programs by establishing and documenting the scope and the schedule.
  • Work across stakeholder groups to proactively identify and manage risks and interdependencies and adjust as needed.
  • Handle communication to stakeholders, the teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • Co-manage the development team’s backlog, prioritize work, and offer data and planning expertise for working through prioritization challenges.
  • Occasional travel might be required.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in the tech industry with 5+ years as a technical program manager in cloud-based software development.
  • Proficiency in large-scale distributed systems and cloud architecture, databases, and build and release.
  • Strong track record of managing software development programs from feature definition to deployment using sophisticated project management tools such as Jira, Asana, etc.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Past experience with containers/Kubernetes areas in infrastructure is a plus.
  • Experience of setting up and leading agile development teams (and/or played the role of a Scrum Master) using SAFe, Scrum, XP, etc.
  • User-centric program leadership: Passionate about optimizing the user experience, providing thought leadership to enhance end-to-end user interactions for technical products.
  • Continuous improvement mindset: Experience in metrics-driven process reengineering and task automation.
  • Mentorship: Experienced in mentoring and developing fellow program managers, fostering growth, and building team capabilities.
  • A creative problem solver with an excellent ability to influence without authority.
  • Great at weighing trade-offs and prioritizing using data and anecdotes.
  • Proactive in approach, focus on innovation, and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
