About The Position

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Upstart, you will lead a team of engineers focused on developing and enhancing reporting systems that support capital markets and lending operations. This role involves strategic oversight of the reporting infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years on product-focused engineering teams and 3+ years of management experience.
  • Strong proficiency in any programming language.
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and SQL databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools like Jira.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in capital markets, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
