About The Position

As Senior Contracts Specialist/Contracts Attorney, you will be accountable for independently reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, informed consent forms, and supporting the broader Legal Operations function. You will make key contributions that will translate Relay's innovative science into impactful medicines for patients. You will report to the Director of Legal Operations.

  • Direct experience reviewing, drafting, redlining, and negotiating a variety of contracts, preferably within the life sciences industry.
  • Direct experience reviewing informed consent forms.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of contracts including clinical trial, master services, consulting, sponsored research, material transfer, software license and other agreements.
  • Independently review and finalize informed consent forms in support of Relay Tx's clinical trials.
  • Manage issues across diverse areas of the company, taking the initiative to identify appropriate subject matter experts and coordinate overall review.
  • Independently discern priorities, set clear expectations with both colleagues and external partners, and efficiently deliver results.
  • Identify potential legal issues, research as needed, and propose solutions.
  • Provide timely advice to colleagues on contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and legal risks.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships across the company and contribute to collaborative cross-functional and/or departmental projects.
  • Prepare and populate agreements using standard templates.
  • Update and maintain standard contract templates customary to Relay Tx's day-to-day activities.
