About the position
RevenueCat is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Product team and contribute to building new systems and features, improving existing infrastructure, and ultimately helping developers increase their revenue. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in backend engineering, experience with SQL and web application development using JavaScript frameworks, and familiarity with RESTful APIs. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent communication skills, empathy for users, and a collaborative mindset. Responsibilities
- Help build new systems and features
- Improve existing infrastructure
- Help developers make more money
- Get up to speed on the architecture and learn the problem domain
- Implement pull requests and deploy to API consumers
- Review code and contribute to engineering culture
- Scope and implement new functionality in the codebase
- Learn incident response and be part of the on-call rotation
- Improve testing, code review, and code shipping processes
- Become the most knowledgeable person on several key features
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience working as a backend engineer
- Comfortable writing and debugging SQL, bonus points if it's PostgreSQL
- Experience building web applications with a JavaScript framework, React experience is a plus
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, Python experience is a plus
- Collaborative builder and like to build systems with other engineers in mind
- Excellent written and verbal communicator
- Deep empathy for the user
- Know when to seek assistance and discuss tradeoffs
- Experience building mobile apps is a plus
