Senior Backend Engineer

• Optimize mobile video streaming capabilities of the app.
• Build software-defined radio-based devices for consuming radio dispatch.
• Ensure the smooth functioning of the app's features like police scanner radio, historical incidents, custom alerts zones, and access to a digital guardian 24/7 help.
• Scale and handle expanded load gracefully to support thousands of users joining the platform each day.
• Process thousands of hours of audio daily to identify incidents impacting user safety.
• Alert users to incidents that matter to them based on geographic densities and demographics.
• Ingest high-quality video at low-latency, transcode, and redistribute it to external media outlets seamlessly.
• Work with Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android), React.js, TypeScript, Go, Python, Cassandra, MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Memcached, Redis, and Google PubSub in the development and maintenance of the systems.
• Stay informed about the latest technologies and industry trends to contribute to the continuous improvement of the systems.

• Experience in scaling and handling high traffic loads
• Proficiency in machine learning and building ML models for audio analysis
• Strong analytical skills for alerting users to relevant incidents
• Knowledge of mobile video streaming and transcoding
• Familiarity with radio hardware and software-defined radio-based devices
• Proficiency in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) for mobile development
• Experience with React.js, TypeScript, Go, Python, Cassandra, MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Memcached, Redis, and Google PubSub for web and backend development
• Ability to design and build scalable and reliable systems
• Knowledge of infrastructure management and deployment pipelines
