About The Position

State Street Global Advisors is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Developer/Lead with over 10 years of experience to join the Portfolio Analytics Technology Solutions team. This role is crucial for designing and optimizing software applications, providing innovative solutions, and coordinating efforts with various teams. The position is primarily office-based in Boston, MA, with some flexibility available.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in application development, particularly in financial services.
• Demonstrated experience in Python, PySpark, and SQL (AWS Redshift, Postgres, Oracle).
• Experience building data pipelines with PySpark and AWS.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying complex applications.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementations.
• Strong leadership and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle for Iterative, Agile, and traditional approaches.
• Experience working with global development teams across different geographies.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience in Financial Services and Asset Management functions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications using Python, PySpark, and SQL with cloud-native architecture principles.
• Lead the design and development of scalable software application architecture aligned with business goals and AWS Cloud best practices.
• Participate in scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, unit testing, and production deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure successful project execution.
• Provide technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues, including workarounds or escalations.
• Document interactions with business and technology stakeholders as necessary.
• Ensure technical solutions exhibit high levels of efficiency, performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending new tools and technologies to improve the technology stack.
• Develop expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical and functional domain areas.
