About The Position

Nightforce Optics is growing and we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The Senior Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and is responsible for ensuring accurate monthly and annual reporting along with the creation of financial reports, general ledger postings, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closings. This position can be located either at our headquarters in Orofino, ID or at our Meridian, ID location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a progressive accounting role, performing similar duties as described.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel is essential).
  • Integrity in the workplace.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Oracle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly account closings to include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory/Cost.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements as well as other financial and statistical reports requested by the manager.
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Maintain consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards.
  • Maintain the general ledger and reconcile G/L accounts and bank accounts in a timely manner.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls and procedures to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Execute accurate reporting, enabling the department to analyze options and make financial recommendations that align with company objectives.
  • Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to verify all entries are created and posted accurately.
  • Process fixed assets, depreciation, and reconciliation of fixed asset general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Reconcile sales and use tax reports on a monthly basis.
  • Review all intercompany transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
  • Compile year-end tax documents.
  • Monitor inventory costing to ensure accurate cost roll-up.
  • Ensure proper tax compliance across all facets of the business.
