About The Position

The Security Solutions Advisor will join the risk management team at a large research university, providing consultative services, cyber guidance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations. This hybrid role involves supporting various partners across the university by managing requests for support, routing them to the appropriate teams, and assessing the team's capability to address those requests.

Requirements

• 10+ years of total experience in security, compliance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of compliance such as PCI, DSS, GLBA, FISMA, FERPA, regulatory DOD compliance, risk assessment, and privacy requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and personalities.
• Experience in higher education environment is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 0 and Tier 1 coordination and understanding of requests and levels of involvement.
• Support external partners across the campus by navigating requests for support.
• Route requests to the appropriate teams and identify if the team has the capability to address the request.
• Utilize a strong background in security or a robust understanding of compliance, risk assessment, privacy requirements, PCI, DSS, GLBA, FISMA, FERPA, and regulatory compliance for DOD.
• Communicate effectively with various teams and personalities across the university.
