About the position
The job overview for this role at Rugged Robotics is to be a part of the sales and business development team, representing the company in the marketplace. The main responsibilities include building relationships with construction industry partners, prospecting potential clients, attending networking events, and coordinating the proposal process. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, a quick learner, and have proven experience in establishing relationships with decision-makers in the construction industry. Additionally, having a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of successful sales experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build solid relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, real estate developers, and other construction industry partners.
- Utilize prospecting tools, including outbound calls and emails, to coordinate and book meetings with potential clients.
- Represent the company at networking events and in the field for projects and meeting clients directly at the office or on the job site at least 25% of the time.
- Coordinate the proposal process with Rugged Operations and Leadership team.
- Prepare and process proposals, contracts, and invoices as needed.
- Collaborate with internal Rugged teams and external stakeholders to drive improvements to our solutions and products.
- Self-motivated and independent with the ability to generate and sustain high levels of activity with strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Curious and a quick learner who is willing to source for new business without perfect information.
- Proven, with the ability to prospect and establish relationships with decision-makers and influencers with varying levels of technical skills and seniority in construction or a related industry.
- Comfortable talking to customers both over the phone and zoom, but also in-person while wearing a hard hat and boots at a construction site.
- Driven to improve things around you, and excited to identify, refine and/or implement improvements to the customer experience and sales process.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering, design, construction management, sales or business-related degrees.
- 5+ years of successful experience with a proven track record of exceeding assigned sales targets.
- Dual experience.
