About The Position

The Sales and Service Technician (SST) at Hibdon Tires Plus is a hybrid role focused on delivering exceptional customer service while performing basic vehicle services. This position serves as a key pipeline for career growth within Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO), allowing individuals to learn all aspects of store operations and flexibly transition between customer interactions and service tasks. The SST is responsible for assessing customer needs, recommending products and services, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely service completion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid automobile driver's license
  • Customer service and career growth mindset
  • Ability to complete required store education courses and modules required for this position
  • Ability to learn and perform basic vehicle service tasks
  • Ability to learn and operate store systems

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree or non-traditional education through training program completion, certification, or other exhibiting the growth mindset
  • Previous consumer retail sales experience
  • Previous automotive experience
  • Previous management/supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing superior customer service to the Boss (~75% of time)
  • Thoroughly assess the Bosses' needs through direct interactions in-person or on the phone
  • Recommend appropriate products and/or services
  • Effectively communicate sales and/or promotions
  • Promote the sign-up and/or use of in-store financing options (CFNA)
  • Resolve Boss complaints in a timely and suitable manner
  • Follow up with the Boss to ensure satisfaction with products/services
  • Completing basic vehicle service tasks (~25% of time)
  • Perform tire services including tire repair, new tire installs, tire mounting, rotations and balancing
  • Conduct engine oil and filter changes
  • Perform battery testing, maintenance, and replacement
  • Handle fluids, filter replacement and light vehicle maintenance
  • Replace bulbs and wipers
  • Conduct alignment checks
  • Perform store operational tasks (As-needed basis)
  • Execute store opening and closing procedures
  • Unload store product shipments and stock product
  • Perform product inventories
  • Set-up and maintain store displays, promotional materials, and product pricing
  • Conduct general cleaning in store lobby and shop areas
