Requirements

  • Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • 5 years of experience in professional nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational and fiscal responsibilities of your department or unit.
  • Initiate processes to assure the highest quality of patient care using a participative approach to achieving goals.
  • Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Maintain standards of team accountability for hospital policies and procedures in the delivery of care.
  • Promote excellence in patient and customer relations by acting as a liaison and effectively interacting with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with other hospital managers and serve on committees to provide efficient and safe patient experience.
  • Manage and coordinate quality assurance program improvement on the assigned unit.
  • Promote a safe environment and complete safety reports regarding employee or patient injury and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Participate in budget planning and manage cost containment practices.
  • Assimilate evidence-based practices and safety protocols into patient care and always maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Update policies and procedures as warranted.
  • Manage staffing: evaluate staff work performance, coordinate new employee orientation, and interview, hire, counsel and terminate employees.
