About The Position

We are a specialty shoe business located in the Times Square District, specializing in ballroom, tango, salsa, and theatrical dance shoes. We are looking for a full-time retail supervisor/assistant manager who is tough-minded, motivated, smart, and talented. The position offers a starting pay of $20.00 per hour for the first 300-400 hours of training, with raises up to $24.00 per hour within the first 9 months based on training goals and merit. Our business hours have been restructured since COVID, and we are currently open Tuesdays through Fridays from 12:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturdays from 10:30am to 5:00pm, with plans to increase hours in the future. We have a corporate casual dress code and a unique work environment that includes dogs.

Requirements

• Retail experience and previous experience supervising or team leading are important.
• Professional attitude, initiative, positive outlook, patience, and poise required.
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, bend, and lift up to 20 lbs essential.
• Fluency in Russian, Mandarin, or Spanish is a definite plus.
• Must love dogs, as they are part of the work environment.

Nice To Haves

• Shoe and/or fashion background is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, setting up, and supervising work assigned to staff to ensure correct and efficient completion.
• Participating and leading by example in work tasks including receiving product, packaging/labeling/pricing, data entry of client and product info, doing inventories, shipping, and basic store maintenance and cleaning.
• Helping clients by selling shoes and providing them with the correct options for their needs.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
