About The Position

The Retail Sales Worker at Kenosha County Commissary is responsible for stocking and inventorying products, maintaining the cleanliness of the retail location, and providing customer service to the facility's population. This role may also involve processing sales transactions and overseeing the retail sales operation, depending on the needs of the location.

Requirements

• Experience in a supervisory or related role preferred
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Basic math and counting skills required
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including evening and occasional weekend
• Must be able to pass County background check for facility access

Responsibilities

• Schedules and assigns work assignments to a retail team and oversees the completion of tasks
• Trains and guides staff members in customer service, cash handling, product knowledge, and other applicable processes and procedures
• Greets and assists customers while anticipating their needs
• Ensures product is stocked to appropriate levels and replenishes and arranges items as needed to maintain appearance
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
• Performs transfers and delivery of products and/or merchandise from the warehouse to the inmates, ensuring customer satisfaction in order fulfillment
• Responsible for receiving products and merchandise, checking for quality and damages, and proper storage of delivered products
• Follows company marketing and promotional offerings
• Performs physical inventory as needed
• Places vendor orders and receives orders weekly
• Processes requests for supplies, prepares merchandise for delivery, and prepares packages for delivery according to established procedures
• Ensures security of company assets
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
