Under the direction of the SVP/Residential Lending, responsible for the day-to-day management of the loan processing and closing functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Loan Analysts and Loan Closers.
Acts as the primary point of escalation for complex issues while fostering a high-performing team environment with clear opportunities for professional development.
Hires, trains, and develops team members.
Oversees onboarding, delivers performance reviews, sets individual goals, holds regular one-on-one meetings, and engages in career development discussions, including the creation of development plans as needed.
Manages the active loan pipeline to ensure timely disclosure, processing, underwriting, and closing of loans in alignment with established SLAs.
Tracks rate lock expirations and contingency dates to ensure timely closings, regulatory compliance and appropriate loan prioritization.
Maintains expertise in all areas of loan processing and closing.
Offers support as needed by managing a loan pipeline and serving as a backup during peak periods or staff absences.
Partners with Loan Analysts and Closers on loan files to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identifies opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
Promotes an environment of continuous improvement by seeking and implementing process enhancements that elevate the customer experience and help the team meet departmental goals and turn times.
Cultivates a professional, team-oriented work environment that encourages collaboration and cross-training to expand team knowledge and capabilities.
Maintains strong working relationships with attorneys, providing guidance and resolving issues as needed to support smooth loan processing and closings.
High School diploma or equivalent.
3 -5 years of experience in mortgage loan processing and closing.
1-2 years of experience of managing a mortgage loan processing team.
Critical thinking, detail-oriented, and customer centric skills.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Experience using Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS).
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows Environment to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Knowledge of federal and local regulations or ordinances concerning lending activities.
