About the position
Scribe Therapeutics is seeking a Research Associate II with experience in formulation and downstream processing of lipid nanoparticles. The candidate will join the Process Sciences team to develop formulations for the company's CRISPR by Design™ platform. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of lipid nanoparticle formulations and be able to collaborate effectively within various groups. This role requires a background in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline, and experience with nanoparticles downstream processing and lipid nanoparticles formulation and characterization. Familiarity with CRISPR technologies and therapeutic approaches is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and characterize lipid nanoparticle (LNPs) formulations both at small and large scales.
- Assist team to generate LNP formulations for in-house and R&D requirements.
- Perform data analysis using statistical software such as GraphPad PRISM, JMP, etc.
- Collaborate effectively within various groups and map out future needs and manage procurement of materials.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and data in electronic laboratory notebook.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required based on the needs of the team.
- Have a good understanding of lipid nanoparticle formulations by various mixing and downstream processing techniques.
- Have experience with nanoparticles downstream processing, such as dialysis, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), centrifugal processing, and sterile filtration techniques.
- Have experience with drug delivery, bioconjugation, and surface modification chemistry.
- Have experience with lipid nanoparticles formulation and characterization.
- Possess excellent collaborative and communication skills and be a good team player.
- Have critical thinking skills and a mindset to deep dive into the LNP and gene editing field.
- Be familiar with CRISPR technologies and therapeutic approaches.
- Have knowledge of lipid chemistry, self-assembly characteristics, and their interaction with oligonucleotides.
- Have the ability to run me.
Requirements
- BS with 2-4 years of experience, or MS with 1 year of experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline
- Experience in formulation and downstream processing of lipid nanoparticles
- Biophysical assessment of LNP systems
- Knowledge of lipid nanoparticle formulations by various mixing and downstream processing techniques
- Experience with nanoparticles downstream processing techniques such as dialysis, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), centrifugal processing, and sterile filtration
- Experience with drug delivery, bioconjugation, and surface modification chemistry (asset)
- Experience with lipid nanoparticles formulation and characterization
- Excellent collaborative and communication skills
- Critical thinking and mindset to deep dive into the LNP and gene editing field
- Familiarity with CRISPR technologies and therapeutic approaches (preferred)
- Knowledge of lipid chemistry, self-assembly characteristics, and their interaction with oligonucleotides (preferred)
