Requirements

• Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.
• BLS & ACLS certification.
• EKG arrhythmia recognition.
• 2 years Critical Care Nursing Experience with telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment of new patients and develop care plans with other staff.
• Document initial and daily assessments in the corresponding database (EPIC or Quinton).
• Update Individual Treatment Plans at least every 30 days and have them signed by MD.
• Monitor patients' EKG and response to exercise and report as appropriate to physician.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed.
• Keep current in the field of Cardiac Rehab through continuing education and self-learning.
• Assist with daily and quarterly Performance Improvement duties as appropriate.
• Check emergency equipment daily.
• Teach education classes as scheduled and provide 1:1 teaching with patients.
• Communicate with physicians and offices utilizing Epic.
• Calculate Exercise Prescription/THRR and communicate Home Exercise Prescription with patients.
• Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees.
