Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver compassionate care, placing patients and their families at the center of every decision.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan interventions, and coordinate care to promote optimal health and wellbeing in accordance with the policies of WFBH.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning referrals to hospital and community resources as needed.
  • Create a secure and healing environment by safeguarding patient privacy and ensuring responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to foster collaboration among the healthcare team, facilitating information sharing throughout the continuum of care.
  • Actively participate in peer review, professional development, and adherence to care standards.
  • Act as a passionate patient advocate throughout the continuum of care, advocating for their needs and preferences in all patient settings, including the community.
  • Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services by applying care management principles.
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate action to continuously improve patient outcomes.
  • Embrace and contribute to our professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promoting a healthy and supportive work environment.
