About the position
The Regional Sales Manager at Desktop Metal is responsible for managing customer accounts in a specific region and exceeding quarterly sales targets for production metal additive printers. They will also develop and target markets and customers for Desktop Metal products and services, build and manage a sales pipeline, and work with marketing for lead generation. The role requires creativity in introducing Desktop Metal in the marketplace and attending industry trade shows. The Regional Sales Manager will also service existing customer accounts, generate new business opportunities, and provide feedback on market trends to marketing and product management.
Responsibilities
- Prospecting and originating sales contacts
- Following up on new production volume business development opportunities
- Working with marketing on targeted lead generation
- Initiating sales calls with senior level executives
- Responding to customer inquiries and following up on action items
- Driving sales campaigns using a proven sales process
- Securing new orders and negotiating pricing, delivery, and related matters
- Creating rolling 90 forecasts and ensuring execution and accuracy
- Attending industry trade shows and exhibitions
- Servicing the needs of existing customer accounts and building long-term relationships
- Generating new business opportunities from existing accounts
- Acting as the main voice of the customer within the organization
- Providing feedback to marketing and product management on wins/losses, opportunities, and market trends
- Attending and participating in required training or education
- Inputting all sales activities into CRM in a timely manner
- Submitting necessary reports including business reviews, forecasts, and pipelines
- Interfacing with other sales personnel and departments to maintain accurate and consistent data
- Following company policies and procedures
- Representing the company in a positive manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the additive manufacturing industry
- Ability to exceed quarterly sales targets for production metal additive printers
- Strong prospecting and lead generation skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Familiarity with CRM systems and ability to input sales activities accurately
- Willingness to attend industry trade shows and exhibitions
- Ability to provide feedback on market trends and opportunities
- Strong organizational and forecasting skills
- Knowledge of the additive manufacturing, MIM, oil & gas, defense industries is a plus
- Adherence to company policies and procedures
