About The Position

The position involves overseeing the Material Handling staff, ensuring effective and cost-efficient operations. Responsibilities include prioritizing daily workloads, collaborating with the Assistant Operations Manager, and ensuring all personnel are trained and certified for their equipment. The role also encompasses overseeing inbound trailer unloading activities, outbound shipment activities, material movement activities, and facility upkeep. The candidate will participate in planning discussions to improve performance and efficiency in shipping, receiving, and storage activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; College 4-yr or 2-yr degree preferred.
• 2-4 years' experience in a logistics leadership role.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
• Proficiency with MS-Office software and Warehouse Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Material Handling staff, prioritizing daily workload and arranging staff coverage.
• Ensure all Material Handling personnel are trained and certified for their equipment.
• Develop work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor daily schedule of incoming shipments and troubleshoot late shipments.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of incoming shipment unloading activities.
• Investigate and solve customer receiving problems in collaboration with Inbound Administrator and Inventory Control.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of inbound pallets in the Warehouse Management System.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of outbound shipment documentation.
• Inspect outbound trailer loading for compliance with customer specifications.
• Manage trailer flow to ensure fluid dock operations.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of inbound pallet put away and staging.
• Oversee periodic re-warehousing of pallets to maximize efficiency.
• Monitor warehouse floor space usage and resolve issues to minimize damage.
• Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
• Participate in planning activities regarding workload prioritization and continuous improvement.
