About The Position

The Quality Engineer Co-Op will support the production facility, working with quality engineers and production personnel to investigate, develop, and implement solutions to issues throughout the factory. The candidate will work to implement solutions to improve part quality, first pass yield, and reduce scrap. Determining the root cause of non-conformances will be part of this position. The candidate will shadow quality engineers while performing product audits, and assist with product audits. They will gain an understanding of the manufacturing processes, standard work, product life cycle systems, ERP systems, and develop an understanding of configuration control in an aerospace manufacturing setting. They will have a high visibility of manufactured parts and the planning used to manufacturing those parts. Specific opportunities at the facility are exposure to machining, deburring, CMM measurement, material control, assembly, part handling, and packaging. The candidate will also be provided the training and opportunity to calculate cost savings or cost avoidance to support overall site cost savings goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer pursuing a 4-year Engineering degree, or degree in the Manufacturing field. Junior year preferred.
  • Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing methods, finishes, quality requirements, and assembly requirements.
