About The Position

The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for overseeing material inspection, sample preparation, and inventory application recommendations for orders. This role focuses on identifying and resolving technical issues to enhance customer satisfaction, ensuring compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of quality control experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, critical thinking, and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple, understandable terms to diverse customer base, vendors, and internal colleagues
  • Ability to work in a team setting and effectively collaborate with others
  • Ability to analyze, track, and maintain accountabilities
  • Operate with high integrity both internally and with customers and vendors
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Exposure to project management
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineered drawings, facility layouts

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties and inspection of incoming material in accordance with Peak's operating procedures to meet the requirements of ISO 9001.
  • Timely recordkeeping of all inspections in the applicable computer program and reports.
  • Test materials in accordance with documented procedures and processes.
  • Review the inspection status or condition of material to determine any deviations from the standard levels of acceptance.
  • Inspect items on a sample basis according to ISO 9001 procedures and in accordance with visual and dimensional attributes described in applicable specifications of ASTM, ASME, etc.
  • Create and maintain material certifications.
  • Prepare product samples for internal and external testing.
  • Review and interpret specifications, standards and customer purchase orders that pertain to material, testing and/or dimensional characteristics of Peak's products and make decisions concerning the practical applications of products under conditions set forth by such documents.
  • Maintain equipment and testing supplies, including 5S cleanliness and housekeeping standards of assigned work area.
  • Provide design, product selection, and specification support in collaboration with vendors and Peak management to meet customer requirements.
  • Train Peak team members on Peak quality standards and procedures.
  • Walk production floor and observe processes for potential quality issues.
  • Work with production employees on quality issues of processed materials.
  • Document and report all non-conformances that affect any product or procedures of the quality control system to the General Manager.
  • Assist with functional and technical elements of RFQ's or project proposals.
  • Investigate all measurable areas of system performance such as customer complaints, mistakes, material returns, internal improvements, preventative action requests, and corrective action requests, and adjust the quality system to improve performance.
  • Review, update, and maintain Peak's quality operating procedures, including but not limited to procedures, manual, forms, and work instructions.
  • Prepare and present reports and formal documents to management, customers, and vendors as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all Peak Machining Group, Inc. safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all Peak Machining Group, Inc. handbook policies and procedures.
