About the position
The job overview for this position is that the company is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for their Competitive Business Unit. The manager will be responsible for improving quality outcomes by managing a team of 3-5 QAs and working with cross-functional teams to build a quality product. The manager will also adhere to the company's management philosophy and coach and improve the skills of the QA team. The role involves working in a Team and Squad model, following Scrum methodology, and creating quality products and tools for High School and Club coaches, athletes, teams, and fans. The company is open to remote candidates in specific states.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 3-5 Quality Assurance (QA) professionals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Manager, Engineer, Designer) to build a quality product
- Adhere to Hudl's management philosophy and coach and improve the skills of the QA team
- Work in a Team and Squad model following Scrum methodology
- Create risk-based testing approaches and plans based on customer and system understanding
- Align automation with the speed of development and make informed decisions on automation
- Push for improvement in the QA team and help team members grow personally and professionally
- Manage up to 5 reports consisting of QA Engineers and Senior QA Engineers
- Drive quality and organizational changes within the team
- Talk with users, test, analyze trends, and deploy high-quality code on a frequent basis
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in full-stack testing
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Service and UI layer automation
- Skilled investigator who can identify the root cause of problems and back it up with data
- Detail-oriented problem solver who can analyze and solve challenging problems
- Ability to evaluate and design a testing approach to mitigate risk and ensure adequate coverage
- Experience leading quality initiatives, projects, and QA individuals and teams
- Ability to identify individuals' strengths and areas of improvement and continuously improve the team
- Experience working in an autonomous squad following scrum methodology
- Ability to create a risk-based testing approach and plans using customer and system understanding
- Knowledge and ability to align automation with the speed of development
- Strong leadership skills to manage up to 5 reports consisting of QA Engineers and Senior QA Engineers
- Proactive in driving change and implementing quality and organizational changes
- Ability to communicate with users, test, analyze trends, and deploy high-quality code frequently
