The Materials Testing Laboratory Technician is the quality testing support for the Receiving and Production areas to help them assure that the material that is received, or that is being used, meets internal, customer and regulatory requirements. The technician also identifies materials that do not conform to the required specifications and notifies the appropriate personnel so that the required actions are taken. The technician also helps test or evaluate product/parts for investigation purposes in order to determine root causes and actions to be taken.
Responsibilities
- Receiving test requests, scheduling jobs, and creating work orders.
- Performing daily testing and reporting the results to the appropriate personnel.
- Accepting or rejecting product based on test results and applicable specifications.
- Identifying non-conforming materials and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Assisting in testing or evaluating products/parts for investigation purposes.
Requirements
- Experience in laboratory testing and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of laboratory test procedures and quality procedures.
- Ability to work in a laboratory monitored environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with aerospace materials and specifications.
- Experience with personal protective equipment (PPE) in a laboratory setting.
