About The Position

The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager in the Water Resources department at either a level 1, level 2, or level 3 depending on candidate qualifications. This position would manage all aspects of water system capital improvement projects.

Requirements

• Project Manager Level 1 - Will have up to 1 year of experience in project management or a related field and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Project / Construction Management from an accredited university; - or- 3+ years of applicable project management experience and an Associates degree in Civil Engineering or Project / Construction management or Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Project Manager Level 2 - Will have 3 years of applicable experience in project management or a related field and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Project / Construction Management from an accredited university; - or- 5+ years of applicable project management experience and a Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Project Manager Level 3 - Will hold a Professional Engineers License in NC or have the ability to receive reciprocity in NC within 6 months of hire and- 5+ years of applicable project management experience or related field.
• All Levels must have possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Managing the planning, design and construction of Water System Capital Improvement Projects, ensuring adherence to policies, regulations and best practices, support operations and asset maintenance.
• General Customer Service and Department Support
