About the position
DPR Construction is seeking a Project Engineer (Civil/Construction) to assist with engineering activities, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and other governmental regulations. The role involves supporting team leaders in managing and directing construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project sites. The Project Engineer will assist the superintendent and project manager in implementing DPR policies and executing projects, applying knowledge of established VDC Services and technologies during construction. Responsibilities include creating visuals to communicate information with the construction project team and stakeholders, gathering BIM specific data, and promoting model use in the field. The position requires availability to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR's Redwood City, California office.
Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering activities to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Support team leaders in managing construction, operations, or maintenance activities.
- Assist the superintendent and project manager in implementing DPR policies.
- Apply knowledge of VDC Services and technologies during construction.
- Create visuals to communicate information with the project team and stakeholders.
- Gather BIM specific data to track metrics on construction projects.
- Assist on-site construction team with VDC applications and processes.
- Promote effective use of model-derived deliverables in the field.
- Ensure project deliverables are available for field use.
- Maintain correct sequence and flow of work using site logistics understanding.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a civil engineer-related occupation.
- Experience in developing construction documents using Autodesk Revit & ArchiCAD.
- Experience in planning and setting up projects on BIM 360 cloud platform.
- Experience in preparing VDC Best-practice workflows and guides.
- Experience in as-built modeling in Revit using point cloud data.
- Experience in overseeing deliverables on construction projects.
- Experience in running multi-trade Clash coordination using Navisworks.
- Experience in translating conceptual designs to 100% design ready documents.
- Experience in developing 4D Schedule by linking model elements to construction schedule.
