The Architect - Mid Level position will have essential multi-discipline team representation and be self-motivated, well organized, and customer focused. This position will be working with our Federal group as an owner's representative on exciting projects.

Requirements

  • An active Secret Security Clearance is a requirement for this position; Top Secret is preferred.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from NAAB accredited college or university.
  • Architectural license is preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience and/or training in architecture, construction, engineering, design, facilities management, real estate management, etc; 10 years is preferable.
  • PMP (US and/or Canada) and LEED AP preferred.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
  • Proficient in most current version of AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
  • Relevant experience in architectural aspects of design and construction phase.
  • Must have a current knowledge of and relevant experience in workspace design, especially as it relates to the health and welfare of building occupants.
  • Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a consultant in the establishment of design standards and criteria for construction projects.
  • Provide on-site field survey measurements and verification including documentation of space, equipment, workflow, required adjacencies, communication and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare stacking plans to accommodate functionality and adjacency requirements.
  • Prepare blocking plans, schematic or conceptual designs, and design intent drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Ensure drawings comply with Program of Requirements (POR), Campus Design Guides and Construction Standards.
  • Perform design reviews and submit comments in required format.
  • Perform construction administration duties, such as reviewing and answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, reviewing and producing field reports, walking the site and verifying accuracy and compliance of construction with drawings and POR requirements.
  • Participate in creation and closeout of punch-list.
  • Maintain knowledge on recent versions of the International Building Code and Commentary (IBC), the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS), and all pertinent federal accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate and assist in resolving critical and possibly controversial issues with a multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers, and federal agency clients.
