About the position
VGS is seeking an exceptional Product Manager to drive the developer strategy and experience of their VGS Vault platform. This role will focus on the developer experience from onboarding to operations, including admin dashboard, documentation, troubleshooting, and DevOps automation. The Product Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a delightful integration experience for partners, clients, and developers, and will be responsible for identifying pain points and creating a best-in-class experience. Additionally, they will develop KPIs and metrics, prioritize developer requirements, and deliver a seamless integration experience through APIs, SDKs, and other developer tools.
Responsibilities
- Establish the vision for a world-class developer experience and set measurable goals for developer productivity and adoption
- Ensure a delightful integration experience for partners, clients, and developers
- Identify pain points in the developer experience and work with cross-functional teams to create a best-in-class experience
- Conduct user interviews, testing, and research to understand user behavior and needs
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and customer support teams to deliver the product on time and meet customer needs
- Develop KPIs and metrics to measure progress and drive a cross-functional team towards success
- Discover and prioritize developer use cases and requirements for the end-to-end developer and client journeys
- Deliver a delightful integration experience through APIs, SDKs, developer sandbox, libraries, and sample code
- Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in API design and developer experience
- Be the subject matter expert for the functional area and the product suite
- Minimum of 8 years' work experience in high-scale developer, enterprise, or consumer-facing products
- Experience in building best-in-class enterprise APIs
- Deep understanding of API design and developer experience best practices
- Ability to identify pain points in the developer experience and improve it
- Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product direction based on user and customer needs
- Excellent technical acumen and familiarity with new technologies, APIs, programming languages, and databases
- Proven track record leading complex strategic initiatives and working through technical, operational, legal/policy, and business issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years' work experience in high-scale developer, enterprise or consumer facing products
- Experience in building best-in-class enterprise APIs
- Prior experience with OpenAPI specifications is a big bonus
- Deep understanding of API design and developer experience best practices
- Ability to identify pain points in the developer experience and work with engineering teams to improve it
- Learner, scrappy, takes full ownership and thrives in a dynamic and ambiguous environment
- Product management skills, technical expertise, communication skills, data-driven mindset, and leadership skills, with a focus on APIs and developer experience
- Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product direction and execution based on user and customer needs
- Excellent technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with new technologies, APIs, programming languages, and databases
- Proven track record leading complex strategic initiatives, working through technical, operational, legal/policy, and business issues.
